Mont-Tremblant is about 130 km north of Montréal: skiing in winter, golf, lakes and festivals in summer, and a resort village that draws visitors from around the world. There is no train, and getting there by bus means connections and fixed schedules. This guide compares your options from downtown Montréal and from Montréal-Trudeau airport (YUL), and explains how a private transfer works.
The drive
From downtown Montréal or YUL, the trip takes about 1 h 30 to 2 h: north on Autoroute 15 through the Laurentians, then Route 117 to Mont-Tremblant. Friday-evening departures from the city and Sunday-afternoon returns are the busiest; in winter, snow in the Laurentians can add time even when Montréal is clear.
Your options
Rental car
Flexible, but you drive after your flight, handle winter conditions yourself and pay for parking at the resort, where many visitors barely use the car once they arrive.
Shared shuttle or bus
The lowest price per seat, but on fixed departure times, with stops along the way and limited room for skis and large luggage. If your flight is late, you may wait for the next departure.
Private chauffeur
Door to door, on your schedule: from your home, office or hotel, or from the arrivals hall at YUL, straight to your hotel or chalet. For a family or a group, the cost per person is often closer to the shuttle than people expect.
| Shared shuttle | Private chauffeur | |
|---|---|---|
| Departure time | Fixed schedule | When you choose |
| Stops | Several | Direct |
| Skis and luggage | Limited | Planned when you book |
| Flight delays | Wait for the next departure | We track your flight |
| Drop-off | Set stops | Your hotel, condo or chalet door |
| Price | Per seat | Per vehicle, quoted in advance |
From YUL airport to Mont-Tremblant
Most visitors from outside Québec land at Montréal-Trudeau. With a private transfer, your chauffeur tracks your flight, can meet you inside the terminal with a name sign, loads the luggage and drives you directly to the mountain. No rental counter, no navigating unfamiliar roads after a long flight, and no waiting for a shuttle. See airport transfers for how pickups at YUL work.
Winter travel
From December to March, conditions in the Laurentians can change quickly. Our vehicles run on winter tires all season and our chauffeurs know the route. On storm days we will contact you before departure if we recommend leaving earlier. For ski trips, tell us how many pairs of skis or snowboards you are bringing so we send a vehicle with the right space.
Sedan or SUV?
A sedan works for one to three passengers with light luggage. For ski gear, families, groups or week-long luggage, choose an SUV. Browse the fleet to compare.
Return trips and staying a few hours
You can book the return at the same time as the outbound trip. If you are heading up for the day, for a meeting, a wedding or a round of golf, the chauffeur can wait, or you can book by the hour. The booking form lets you choose a round trip and the waiting time, and shows the estimate before you send the request.
