Charlevoix is our longest regular run — four and a half hours from Montréal to La Malbaie, out past Québec City and along the 138 with the river on your right the whole way.

The Club Med Québec Charlevoix transfer is the one we do most. Guests arriving at YUL rather than YQB face a long day, and a car that meets the flight and does the whole thing door to door removes the worst of it.

We also serve Baie-Saint-Paul, Le Massif and La Malbaie itself.

The route

The drive, in detail.

East on the A-40 along the north shore to Québec, then Route 138 through Beaupré and Baie-Saint-Paul into Charlevoix. About 400 km to La Malbaie and four and a half hours in good conditions — a half day each way, which is why it is nearly always booked as a return with the timing agreed in advance rather than arranged from the road.

What changes it

  • It is a long dayFour and a half hours each way means a departure time chosen around the driver as much as the traffic. A stop is planned into the schedule rather than improvised.
  • Getting through QuébecThe city sits in the middle of this drive. Arriving at its bridges at five in the afternoon adds time to both directions.
  • Route 138 in winterThe 138 through the Charlevoix hills is coastal, steep in places and weather-exposed. It is the stretch that decides whether a winter departure holds.
  • Le Massif and Club Méd weekendsSki Saturdays and changeover days concentrate traffic on the last sixty kilometres.
