Sherbrooke is the far end of the Autoroute 10 run through the Eastern Townships, and most of our journeys there pick up or drop off along the way — Bromont, Magog, Orford.

It is university and hospital traffic as much as corporate, and a large share is families and visiting academics arriving through YUL.

We cover Sherbrooke and the surrounding Townships including Magog, Orford, North Hatley and Lennoxville.

Frequently asked

  • Can you stop along the way?Yes. Additional stops are arranged when you book.
  • How long from the airport?Around two hours from YUL to Sherbrooke.

The route

The drive, in detail.

Over the Champlain bridge and east on the A-10, the Autoroute des Cantons-de-l’Est, past Bromont, Magog and Orford, then the A-410 into Sherbrooke. About 150 km and an hour and three quarters when the bridge behaves. It is an easy road in good weather and a different one in January.

What changes it

  • The Champlain bridgeEverything about the timing of this trip is decided in the first ten kilometres. At rush hour the bridge can cost more than the rest of the drive.
  • Ski FridaysFrom January the A-10 fills with traffic bound for Bromont and Orford. Southbound Friday afternoon, northbound Sunday afternoon.
  • Early OctoberFoliage weekends put more cars on that highway than the ski season does, and the slow ones are sightseeing.
  • Winter in the hillsThe Townships get weather the island does not. Snow that is rain in Montréal is snow from Granby onward.
